Raghu Rai
Raghu Rai has been a member of Magnum Photos since 1977. During his long and distinguished career, he has won many international awards and has been honoured with the Padmashree, one of India’s highest cultural awards, in 1971, and ‘The Photographer of The Year’ award for his story ‘The Human Management of Wildlife in India’ which was published in the National Geographic. His photo-essays have appeared in many of the world’s leading magazines and newspapers including TIME, Life, GEO, The New York Times, The Sunday Times, Newsweek and The New Yorker. In the last twenty years, Raghu Rai has specialised in extensive coverage of India and has produced more than twenty-four books, among them, Raghu Rai’s Delhi, The Sikhs, Calcutta, Khajuraho, Taj Mahal and Tibet in Exile. He lives in New Delhi with his family.
