Carissa Nair

Carissa Nair is a first-generation Indian immigrant to the USA and a senior in high school based in Houston, USA. At the age of ten, she started her own blog called www.thewordweaver.net which is collage of deep thoughts and reflections weaved in the resplendent colors of life and conveyed through poems. Through her book of poems titled When The Soul Sighs she has sought to paint her myriad experiences in a ‘foreign land’ through the medium of poetry which is intense and thought provoking. This is her first attempt to teleport the readers into her world through the lens of her experiences. She is an honors student and a State level Choir ‘soprano’ singer who is passionate about science, research, music, literature, and making an impact on her community.
