The Company Red

Om Books International to release India’s first horror thriller The Company RED by Shantanu Dhar

Soon a Major Motion Picture

Noida, July 21, 2011: Om Books International, is delighted to announce the release of The Company RED by an Indian author, Shantanu Dhar in September 2011 in New Delhi. A frightful and thought-provoking tale of hunts blurring lines between humans and vampires, The Company RED is the first novel of the RED trilogy by Shantanu Dhar.

The Company RED, Dhar’s first book, is a fast-paced, horror thriller that explores a new genre for the first time in India. The first novel sets the basis for what the protagonist Ardhendu Bose becomes, thanks to his exposure to The Company RED.

Says Ajay Mago, publisher, Om Books International, “The Company RED is a most amazingly written horror thriller by first-time author, Shantanu Dhar. Shantanu is a very fine writer. The book has a great storyline and the characters are strongly etched out. I am proud to be associated with such a soul-stirring book and I am sure this action-packed thriller will be one of the bestsellers this season.”

The Company RED is India’s first horror thriller that would soon be made into a major motion picture with an international cast. Well-known Indian actor, producer and director, Satish Kaushik has acquired the film rights. He is sure that the film will introduce the Indian audiences to a new genre of cinema.

About the Book

Ardhendu Bose, a fatherless middle-class Bengali boy brought up by a domineering and vicariously ambitious mother, tries to escape from the failures of life, in the arms of his Punjabi girlfriend, a BPO job that is sheer drudgery, the mindless somersaults of Crystal, his six-year-old Labrador, and in the company of the never-say-die and Texan drawl trawling Manoj.

But everything is set to change overnight. A loser from a B-grade Indian business school, Ardhendu is summoned for an interview by RED, the fourth largest Life Sciences company in the world. His life takes a turn for the better, or so he believes, when he is chosen over an IIM hopeful, to be Executive Assistant to President, India Operations, RED. Finally, he gets a life, works with people with exotic names he pronounces effortlessly as though he were one of them, drinks their fine spirits, attends their parties, and climbs the ladder rapidly. Till that epiphanic moment in a penthouse balcony when it becomes clear that there is a price to pay to be a part of that world…of predators.
